COVID-19 UPDATES

At CENTURY 21 Real Estate Center, your health and safety, as well as your clients, are our first priorities. Here we will be writing updates on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as it relates to real estate.

For CENTURY 21 Real Estate Center, it is business as usual. Buyers are still buying houses and homes are being sold quickly. We have not seen any reduction in activity as of today.

Northwest Multiple Listing Service has disabled the option for Public and Broker Open Houses per the signed emergency deceleration signed by Governor Jay Inslee today.  See video for recommendations for alternate hosting options.

It appears that several restaurants are adapting to the new rules for take out only and the most recent press conference had promising news about the government assisting those out of work quickly. Some ideas:

To support restaurants during this time is to publish a list of your favorite local restaurants and phone numbers, share this with your sphere via email or social.

Encourage all that can afford to order take out to do so occasionally over the next week or two.

Meet someone for coffee; offer to pick up coffee and meet at a local park, adhering to the social distancing recommendations.

Meet someone for lunch; pick up take out and meet at a local park, adhering to the social distancing recommendations.



For CENTURY 21 Real Estate Center, it is business as usual. If not busier than usual! We have multiple new listings and buyers and sellers continue to be coming to terms with mutual contracts. The spring market is active!

That said... we need to take the government recommendations seriously and protect the communities we serve.  Please know we will be updating this page daily with additional information as we become aware.

It is our recommendation that you provide virtual walk-through for your clients and/or schedule private showings! Feel free to contact us if you need help with any of these alternatives.

The King County Recorder's Office will be closed from March 16th to March 27th. They will still be available digitally to process closings. Our recommendation is that the form C21A be added to all contracts, regardless of the county.  As of today, all planned closings have taken place as scheduled without delay.

As of Monday, March 16th, Gov. Jay Inslee announced a temporary statewide order to shut down restaurants, bars, entertainment, and recreational facilities statewide due to the coronavirus. Drive through and delivery are still permitted. He also expanded the protection to limit the size of large gatherings to 50 people.

Further, President Trump as asked that all events with 10 or more people refrain from gathering.

What does this mean for real estate?

Continuing following our advice above! Instead of going out to lunch with a client, perhaps pick them up a coffee on your way to view a home or sign paperwork instead of going out to lunch. House showings can be a great time for your clients to get out of the house in a time of social distancing.

Keep positive; these practices are in place for a short time to protect our most vulnerable community members.
